Hello from Hope Story Missions and Lennox Barnett!  It has been too long, Lennox, and we’re truly sorry about that. So much has been happening, though, we just wanted to get reacquainted with you and let you in on how God is working in and through our ministry!

First of all, please pray fervently for Lennox and his safe travels on Saturday, Aug. 12th. He is leaving Chicago at 5 am and hopes to be in Gressier at our campus by late afternoon.  You’ve probably read about the increased violence and kidnappings in Haiti recently, but Lennox feels called to be with our students and staff regularly, so his trip is critical to the continued success of the program. He’ll be taking extra security precautions, but your prayers are the best security he can have!

During the 16 days he’ll be in Haiti, Lennox will be concentrating on the following programs:

1. Vacation Bible School – last year, our students developed and led VBS for what we thought was going to be 80 kids…turned into 160 and we hardly had room for them all!  This year, we’re expecting 300 kids to come and we are ready! Thanks to your generous support, we will feed, teach and play with these kids and spread the gospel through our student’s. Lennox will oversee the operation, but will not participate as such. This is a way for us to increase our student’s faith, evangelical and administrative skills as they proceed through our program.
2. Back to school – our students will be heading back to school in a few weeks, so tuition, clothing, supplies and schedules need to be purchased and coordinated.  Your support will help us meet the needs of our students, and even spread to the community with extra supplies we might obtain through your generosity.
3. HOPE Business Program – We have invested in a program through an organization called Get Hope Global that is uniquely designed for older teens in a school setting. It is created to give students a voice, a choice, and a chance—a chance for financial independence, and a chance for a better life. Lennox will train our staff in Haiti to be proficient in this program so they can, in turn, teach our students and help them prepare for life after Hope Story Missions!

As summer turns to fall, please continue to pray for God’s guidance in our ministry as we hope to double our students by year end, along with planting several Crossroads Kids Clubs to help our students spread the Gospel to hundreds of kids in our community who haven’t felt the love of Christ or maybe any love in a long time. As always, we cherish your financial support as well, Lennox. We can’t do any of this without the sacrificial giving of each and every one of you. We’re eternally grateful!
