I was born blind in Kingston, Jamaica. Shortly after birth, I was diagnosed with congenital glaucoma. Because it was so rare to see this disease in a newborn baby, doctors at The University Hospital in Kingston began doing exploratory surgeries. As a child, I began to see after one of the exploratory surgeries! The doctors had no explanation for the sudden ability to see.

However, I knew it was due to my grandma’s prayers. My grandma prayed for me to regain my sight since the day I was born. There is no doubt in my mind the unexplainable success of the surgery was a direct result of her conversations with God.
